Creative Nomad MuVo

Recent MP3 players have tended to confuse novice users with their advanced functions and finicky controls. Creative's latest device, the Nomad MuVo, is the complete opposite in design and functionality. This hybrid player doubles as an MP3 player and a versatile portable storage device. Featuring a unique detachable flash memory module that plugs straight into your PC via USB 1.1, this extraordinary device requires no cables or software. All operating systems later than Windows 98 SE recognise it as a removable drive. This enables you to drag and drop appropriate files to the drive (pre-Windows 98 SE users need not fret; a driver is included in the box for older operating systems).

This incredibly tiny player weighs only 28g without the battery attachment and has the dimensions of 73x35x16mm (WxHxD). Approximately the same size as a Zippo lighter, the MuVo can be attached to a key ring via the loop on the battery attachment. Power is supplied by means of one AAA alkaline battery and continuous playback resulted in over 10 hours during the longevity test. Six buttons located on the player control playback and volume and are positioned relatively close together for ease of use. A dual function LED informs the user of current status, as there is no LCD to display information. The quality of playback from the device is exemplary: a signal to noise ratio of 90dB and a frequency response of 20Hz to 20KHz.

If you're after an MP3 player without the bells and whistles, and one that can also double as a data transport device, you may not need to look any farther.

In brief: Creative Nomad MuVo

A no-frills MP3 player and data storage device that is ultra portable, easy to use and can be used in any PC that has a USB connection.

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.
