Samsung introduces S1 Mini external HDD

1.8in external hard drive provides up to 250GB of data storage

Samsung has announced the launch of its S1 Mini ultra-portable external hard drive with a maximum disk capacity of 250GB. The Samsung S1 Mini features a USB 1.8-inch hard drive which is the size of a credit card, thereby making it extremely pocketable and easy to carry around. Until now it was only available in 120GB and 160GB capacities, but the new release includes 200GB and 250GB models in addition to the new existing models.

The new S1 Mini 250GB hard drive will feature Spinpoint N3U which incorporates a native USB controller on its circuit board, in the process providing 56% disk space than the previous 160GB model. In addition, Samsung external HDD series supports various user-frienly features such as Samsung Auto Backup that enables real-time or scheduled backup and SecretZone that encrypts and stores vital data on a virtual drive as well as SafeKey, a powerful data-security function that offers dual data protection through a password.

Samsung's portable external drive series includes S1 Mini and S2 Portable, the latter being a 2.5-inch external hard drive available in 160GB, 250GB, 320GB and 500GB capacities. The drives are available in six different colors to appeal to customers.
