Micro Focus Appoints New Account Directors In Australia

Focuses on bolstering Application Lifecycle and Financial Services solutions

<p>Micro Focus, the specialist application modernisation and management software developer, has appointed two new account directors in Australia to focus on the company’s Application Lifecycle and Financial Services solutions.</p>
<p>Simon McCrostie, previously involved with operational initiatives at services company CROSSMARK, will engage with Micro Focus customers in New South Wales and Queensland, helping them improve their software application delivery practices and quality deliverables.</p>
<p>Martyn Bartlett, previously a client executive in the Key Accounts Group of Sun Microsystems, will guide New South Wales and Queensland customers in the financial sector through legacy application modernisation projects.</p>
<p>McCrostie and Bartlett have been designated as Account Director – Application Lifecycle Solutions, and Account Director – Financial Services Sector, respectively.</p>
<p>“A succession of Y2K, ERP, Web and legacy modernisation projects over the last decade has left businesses with a fractionalised adoption of software quality practices and tools,” says McCrostie.</p>
<p>“My goal is to assist businesses understand the bottom line value in adopting an enduring commitment to software quality and application delivery into production, and providing the framework to support their commitment.”</p>
<p>Bartlett adds that after a decade of changes, coupled with an unprecedented cost cutting regime, “the quality, agility and financial burden of legacy code needs to be reviewed and modernised to ensure businesses stay competitive.”</p>
<p>Micro Focus Australian and New Zealand Country Manager, Keith Mante, says the new appointments will help the company better service its customers at a time when the IT industry is pushing barrows full of new and distracting concepts – Green, Cloud, Web 3.0, to name a few.</p>
<p>“Customers continue to face the challenges of shrinking budgets, fewer human resources, and increasing demands from the business to help find, keep and grow the customer base,” says Mante.</p>
