The Kogan Agora Pro Netbook is now even cheaper.

Kogan Technologies today announced that it has slashed the price of its Agora Netbook range. The 10.2in Agora Netbook Pro was originally $539, but is now available for $439 — a saving of $100. The Agora Netbook, which was previously $499, is now available for $399.

The Kogan Agora Pro comes with 2GB of RAM and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, as well as 802.11g networking, a Bluetooth USB module, a 160GB hard drive and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. The standard Agora model has 1GB of RAM, a 3-cell battery (instead of the Pro’s 6-cell battery) and doesn't include the USB-based Bluetooth module.

Both Agora models use the gOS operating system, an open source platform that comes with preinstalled applications. "We are huge believers in open-source software. The reasons are simple, open source software is usually faster, better and has more features,” said Ruslan Kogan, founder of Kogan Technologies.

The Kogan Agora and Agora Pro netbooks can only be purchased directly through Kogan Technologies. For more information, visit the Kogan Web site.

MSI GS75

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
