FrontRange Solutions Helps Organisations Manage Microsoft® Enterprise Agreements and Company-wide Licensing Agreements

Drive out unnecessary costs and ease the management of volume licensing schemes across multiple vendors with new FrontRange License ManagerTM 3.1
 • 08 September, 2009 11:34

FrontRange Solutions, a developer of Infrastructure Management and Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions has announced the launch of FrontRange License Manager[1] 3.1, which introduces the ability to help organisations better manage their Microsoft Enterprise Agreements and other volume licensing arrangements.

For organisations that actively use Microsoft SMS 2003, FrontRange License Manager 3.1 includes a new data collector that can take software audit information from the ubiquitous systems management tool. The integration between License Manager and its default software audit source, FrontRange DiscoveryTM, has also been enhanced.

Matt Fisher, Director of Marketing at FrontRange Solutions, commented: “With software budgets at best static, organisations need to focus on how they can better manage the software on their networks. License Manager is designed to help organisations drive out unnecessary costs by giving both IT and financial stakeholders the visibility and control needed to eliminate rogue purchasing, poor deployment practices and ineffective management of volume license agreements.”

FrontRange License Manager 3.1 also features a new bulk data import tool, which can take licensing information from multiple vendors and contracts, and load this into the license repository automatically, presenting a significant administrative saving to the end user organisation.

FrontRange License Manager is an integral part of the FrontRange SAM Suite™ solution, which comprises FrontRange SAM Essentials for project management, FrontRange Discovery for audit, FrontRange License Manager for license recording and reconciliation, and NetInstall for packaging and deploying applications onto the network.

Alongside the core development of the FrontRange License Manager solution, FrontRange Solutions has also enhanced the unique ‘Nexus’ hosted license database, which automatically validates the licensing information entered by end users (normalising data where appropriate to ensure consistency and reduce discrepancies between customer and vendor license information). The Nexus now features nearly one million titles from vendors such as Microsoft®, Symantec®, CA®, McAfee®, Novell®, Autodesk and Adobe®.

An upgrade to FrontRange License Manager 3.1 is available to all supported License Manager and SAM Suite customers at no additional cost. For more information or pricing, contact your local FrontRange sales office or channel partner.
