Open Text Signs Technology Partnership with Fuji Xerox Australia

 • 29 September, 2009 12:45

Sydney, 29 September 2009 – Open Text Corporation (NASDAQ: OTEX, TSX: OTC), a global leader in Enterprise Content Management, announced today that it has appointed Fuji Xerox Australia, a leader in the digital print market, as a Technology Partner in Australia.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two organisations will jointly market an end-to-end solution for content capture, delivery, processing and archiving. While Open Text provides leading document and data capture solutions that allow customers to convert paper documents to digital content, and manage associated processes, Fuji Xerox markets a broad range of printers, digital production publishers, multifunction and document management services and solutions.

The joint solution is an offering combining Open Text eDOCS DM with Fuji Xerox multi-function printing technology. eDOCS DM helps control document-based knowledge assets by enabling users to capture, organise, locate and share business content in a secure, integrated, and intuitive environment. By combining with Fuji Xerox multi-function printing and scanner technology, organisations will benefit from significant cost reductions and productivity gains by fast and easy integration of business document workflows.

“As an example, many companies still have standalone fax machines that operate on separate phone lines and require middleware applications to integrate with business systems. At the same time, people typically think of document management as a standalone desktop application. By partnering with Fuji Xerox, we can offer organisations a comprehensive solution for the integrated management of business-critical documents from capture to eventual archival or destruction,” said Chris Petersen, Director of Channels, Open Text.

Indeed, Open Text and Fuji Xerox Australia are already engaged in working together on a project for the Victorian government where they are bridging the gap between standalone devices and document management.

“The seamless integration of hard copy and electronic documents is key to providing our customers with innovative solutions to their business process challenges. We are excited to see our technologies operate as critical business tools in helping organisations to manage their information more efficiently,” says Andrew Taylor, National Manager, Office Innovation Group, Fuji Xerox Australia.

Open Text supports its partners with dedicated, proactive account management, direct-touch sales assistance and access to its engineering, support and marketing specialists.

“This partnership with Fuji Xerox is indicative of our commitment to continually serve the evolving needs of today's businesses as they embrace new technologies for efficiency and collaboration. While the partnership will be a mutually beneficial relationship for both companies it will also will help our installed base extend the benefits of their Open Text investment,” said Petersen.
