As part of this event VMware hosted an awards evening where partners and customers were recognised for excellence in virtualisation. Specifically, the awards were presented to partners who had made significant contributions to the industry, and to customers who demonstrated creativity and technology leadership.

This year Datacom was awarded the VMware award for Partner Technical Achievement 2009. As a Premier partner of VMware, Datacom has strong representation across Australia and has developed particularly strong technical skills in virtualisation.

Fred King, ANZ Partner Director for VMware stated “VMware views the channel as critical to the success of virtualisation technology in the region. We’ve been extremely proud to work with Datacom, whose commitment to VMware and the virtualisation industry has seen them make a significant difference in the market. This is typified by their commitment to building technical and sales skills and focusing on technical excellence when working with their customers, making Datacom a well deserving recipient of the Partner Technical Achievement for 2009.“
Datacom’s strong alignment with VMware ’s Virtualisation solutions is further highlighted by Datacom’s WA office developing VPractice methods.

Mr King went on to say “Since returning from VMworld in September, the WA team at Datacom decided to take the lead in using VMware’s vPractice methodologies to help strengthen its own virtualisation practice.
