PERTH, WA, 11 November, 2009 – Highway 1, business telecommunications service provider in Australia launches its new ‘CityEthernet’ product in Perth, Western Australia.

CityEthernet is the latest product addition to the list of Highway 1 services, providing affordable 100Mbps internet and inter office communications to businesses in the Perth CBD.

Highway 1 General Manager, Mr. Nicholas Power said, “Connecting to the internet at 100Mbps really changes the productivity of your office. Faster email, quicker download times, real-time high definition video streaming all become realities with CityEthernet. Just as there was a big leap up in speed from dialup to broadband, CityEthernet is the next huge step up from today’s broadband services. CityEthernet delivers the much talked about Next Generation Broadband Network to businesses today, not in five or ten year’s time.”

Mr. Power said, “Businesses have always wanted higher speeds to the internet but pricing for higher speeds like SHDSL and Ethernet have been prohibitive. CityEthernet changes this equation and delivers affordable 100Mbps connectivity right into your office.”

The Highway 1 CityEthernet network is certified to the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) Carrier Ethernet standard that assures service quality, reliability and interoperability. While this service is currently only available to businesses in the Perth CBD area, Highway 1 will be expanding its coverage to other Perth metropolitan areas soon.

Eligible businesses within the Perth CBD coverage area can connect to CityEthernet-100-1 plan for $1,500 per month and includes this 100GB of internet data and unmetered traffic to the WAIX network. Businesses who connect for 36 months will have their setup cost waived by Highway 1. This special introductory offer is valid expires on the 1st December 2009.

More information about CityEthernet service, plans and full terms and conditions of the introductory offer is available at http://cityethernet.highway1.com.au/.
