Awarded BLI‘s “Pick” in the mid-size workgroup monochrome printer category, Kyocera‘s FS-4020DN demonstrated outstanding reliability in BLI‘s thorough lab test, with not even a single jam throughout its 125,500-impression test.

Walk-up users will appreciate the USB host key that allows users to print files directly from USB memory sticks. Kyocera also brings added ease of use to desktop users with its KM Net for Direct Printing application, which is a user-friendly utility allowing for simple submission of PDF files to the device without the need to open the PDF. Users are able to choose one or multiple PDF files and submit them to the direct print workflow, using either a drag-and-drop, right-click or browse file-submission selection process. Users can also set up print profiles, which further simplify the submission process. This is ideal for users operating the device as a short-run print-on-demand resource.

David Sweetnam, European Laboratory and Research Manager commented, “While color continues to dominate the marketing limelight, monochrome printers are still the workhorses in the majority of offices today. With its low cost of ownership, courtesy of Ecosys technology, high reliability as proven in BLI‘s test, excellent direct PDF submission tool and high capacity paper input and output capabilities to maximize uninterrupted print runs, the FS-4020DN is ideally suited to a life of hard labor.”

“Kyocera‘s ECOSYS printers are engineered to address the economic and environmental challenges facing today‘s businesses,” said Mark Vella, Product Marketing Manager, Kyocera Mita Australia.

“Many companies are looking to control their costs as they seek to mitigate today‘s negative economic forces. The FS-4020DN printer provides businesses with the ultra-high reliability they have come to expect from Kyocera, and helps to reduce printing costs without compromising the ability to print high quality documents and reduce their environmental impact. This award from Buyers Lab is a clear testament to our efforts.”
