OKI C7000 series

All three models provide a true print resolution of 600x1200dpi via a print engine capable of speeds up to 12 pages per minute in full colour and 20 pages per minute in monochrome.

Apart from the 2MB of flash memory, standard memory is 64MB (upgradeable to a massive 1024MB). Standard paper handling is for 630 sheets, which can be expanded to 1690 sheets with optional second and third 530-sheet paper trays. Image processing is handled by a 64-bit 400MHz PowerPC 750 processor with a dedicated accelerator for RIP processing, colour management and data compression. This is complemented by the use of one-pass technology to apply the image to the page. Previously, multi-pass printing was used, which inhibited performance as well as restricting the weight of the paper which could be used.

C7000 series printers can handle paper weights from 60 to 200gsm and can be configured with a duplex unit, which is standard on the C7200dn. The printer itself has a life of 600,000 pages or five years with a recommended maximum usage of 50,000 pages per month, while the toner cartridges each have a capacity of 10,000 pages of A4 coverage. The toner used is not of the standard variety, as OKI has found a way to remove the oil in the toner and replace it with wax, resulting in a transparent quality which should enhance overhead transparency printouts.

This printer can also be optioned up to improve its functionality and performance with enhancements such as the above-mentioned duplex unit, RAM upgrades, extra paper trays or an internal hard drive to be used for storing forms, letterheads, logos, etc., which can be downloaded directly to the printer from the network. Definitely worth considering for the network or standalone environment with heavy colour needs.

I’d recommend a Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 and the new Windows 10 to anyone who needs to get serious work done (before you kick back on your couch with your favourite Netflix show.)

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
