Kogan 42in Full HD 1080p LCD TV: slashed to $879.

Ruslan Kogan, founder and director of Kogan Technologies, yesterday announced a price drop across his company's consumer electronics range. The announcement was made at Kickstart Forum 2010 in Queensland, where IT journalists and vendors meet to discuss emerging trends in the industry.

“[Kogan] has had exponential growth since day one four years ago, which has given us increased buying power with our manufacturers,” Kogan said during the session. “I’m proud to announce that as of right now, we have dropped prices across the board to represent this recent increase.”

Some of the products to receive a price-cut include the Kogan 42in Full HD 1080p LCD TV, which has dropped to “a ridiculously low” $879; down from the original asking price of $1449. The Kogan Blu-ray player has also been slashed by $50, falling to just $199. “Our Blu-ray player comes with BD-Live, Internet connectivity and all the features you’d expect from a Blu-ray player three times the price.” Kogan said.

Kogan’s range of digital photo frames and video cameras have also received price cuts. For example, the Kogan Full HD 1080p Video Camera has been reduced to $239.

"We’re always dropping prices from week to week, and we don’t normally make a fanfare about it. But we felt the need to blow our own trumpets a bit with these huge, across the board savings.” Kogan said.
