Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA) has announced today that its Vodafone and 3 Australian mobile networks will provide unlimited standard national voice calls network to network on the latest cap plans.

Coming into effect on 11 March 2010, the Vodafone and 3 unlimited call offer is included on all new caps starting at $29 per month and above, and the offer does not have a fair use policy. The unlimited call offer applies on calls made to and from 3 customers on the 3 network, and between Vodafone customers on the Vodafone network, but doesn't include calls made between Vodafone and 3 or vice versa.

VHA has also included international voice calls and texts as part of the included value of each cap and it provides an option for unlimited BlackBerry Internet and e-mail on any data inclusions.

"These caps offer endless, same network standard national voice calls, and what separates us from our competitors is the fact that our customers don’t need to exhaust their monthly cap value before reaping the benefits of unlimited same network standard national voice calls," said Edward Goff, General Manager of Voice and Broadband, VHA.

"Vodafone and 3 customers will immediately benefit from endless same network standard national voice calls from the very first call they make."

As part of the new caps, both Vodafone and 3 are offering 50MB of included data with $49 cap plans and will offer all new caps on both 24 and 12 month contracts. The launch also includes three new SIM-only month-to-month contracts — $20 (50MB of data), $35 (250MB) and $55 (500MB) respectively.

Goff said current Vodafone and 3 customers under contract can switch to one of the new cap plans without paying a fee to change plans.

New mobile phones that will benefit from the cap plans include Nokia's new N97 mini smartphone, Sony Ericsson's first Android smartphone, the XPERIA X10 and LG's new flagship Mini (GD880). The N97 mini is available now, while the XPERIA X10 and LG Mini are set to launch in Q2, with no firm date set down for either handset.

VHA will also launch Samsung's flagship Wave smartphone, the first mobile phone to run Samsung's new Bada operating system. The launch of the wave in late Q2 should also coincide with the Australian launch of the Samsung Bada app store.
