Book Review: OmniPage Power!

If technology is supposed to take you into the digital era, why do you have that mountain of paper on your desk? As much as we'd like to move towards a paperless office, that ever-growing pile of hard copies remains. If you'd like to take action and sick your scanner on the problem, take a look at OmniPage Power!.

This book focuses on helping readers use optical character recognition (OCR) software OmniPage Pro to scan your documents. There's detailed information on scanning different types of documents as well as setting up templates that will save time later when you have to scan a similar document. There's also help for scanning images, particularly signatures, logos and photos.

The exercises are clearly stepped through, so beginners shouldn't worry about tackling a new type of application or piece of hardware. The book does, however, cover some more advanced options - which should help to prolong its usefulness.

Finally, if you've made a start at digitising your documents and have found it a more involved process than simply scanning the hard copies, you'll appreciate the troubleshooting tips.
