Michael Jackson MMO coming in 2011

3D environment for Jackson fans to enjoy pop superstar's legacy

A massively multiplayer online (MMO) virtual world will be created as a tribute to Michael Jackson's legacy as an entertainer and humanitarian.

Set to launch in late 2011, fans of the 'King of Pop', who passed away last June, will be able to participate in the online virtual world dubbed 'Planet Michael'. The MMO will be built by Special Entertainment Events (SEE) Virtual Worlds, which has worked closely with Jackson's estate.

Gameplay will differ from the likes of World of Warcraft. Although the title is free to download, users can exchange real money for virtual cash to use in the game for online transactions. Planet Michael is one of the first 3D themed planets that are part of the Entropia Universe.

Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Virtual Worlds, said that a major component of Planet Michael would be the pop icon's music. "When we first approached [Jackson's estate] and talked about creating Planet Michael, one of our primary goals was to build an interactive environment where fans from all over the world come together to affirm Michael’s life-long dedication to fostering global friendships," he said.

John McClain, co-executor of Jackson's estate, believes that Planet Michael is a great opportunity to prolong Jackson's legacy. "Michael was always exploring creative new ways technology could enhance the experiences of his fans, and for that reason we are thrilled to be working with SEE Virtual Worlds to build a global interactive experience that befits an artist as innovative as Michael Jackson," he said.

For more information, fans can visit Planet Michael online.

PC World Evaluation Team Review - MSI GS75

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
