Just a few short days ago, the official Skype application finally graced the Android Market. But to much dismay, the communications app lacked the ability to make 3G calls on certain carriers within the US.
Wasting no time, a forum poster over on the Droid Forums set to work on hacking Skype’s official app to work over 3G. Within hours of the original application’s release, a slightly tweaked version was made available for download, making calls over 3G for Android owners a reality, all without the need to root your device.
You can download the unlocked version of the application from DroidForums.net (.apk file). If you do give it a download be sure to let us know how the hack holds up in the comments!
