Do you need more disk space? Are too many seldom-used programs causing problems on your PC? Are you afflicted with a cover disc habit where you just can't resist installing every new demo and playing with it for all of, oh, five minutes? Then you'll be wanting an uninstaller to get shot of all that unwanted software cleanly and comprehensively. But do you want this one?
Although it performs well, there are three drawbacks with EasyUninstall, two minor and one major. The very first time you run the program, it takes an age - well, up to an hour - to scan your hard disk and build a database of all installed programs. Thereafter, subsequent scans are very much quicker, but they nevertheless remain an irritant. Second, EasyUninstall achieves much better results when it's in place before other programs and thus has the opportunity to monitor new installations from the start. This way, it knows exactly how to reverse any given operation and leave a system exactly as it was before. The upshot is that you'll get mixed results if you try to clean out long-established programs - and that, we suspect, means most of us. Then again, this is true of all uninstallers.
Finally, and most significantly, EasyUninstall won't remove, back up or otherwise deal with any program that uses the standard Windows Installer method of getting onboard. A clue to how widespread Installer is nowadays is that EasyUninstall itself uses it for installation - and, ironically, self-removal.
