Sanyo today launched a projector with a Native 2K (2048x1080) resolution. The Sanyo PLC-HF15000L projector is designed for large venues, with a quoted light output of 15,000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1.

The Sanyo PLC-HF15000L is equipped with four 380 Watt lamps that are hot swappable: if one of the lamps fails it can be replaced without interrupting the projected image.

According to Sanyo, the projector's integrated QuaDrive technology results in "increased colour purity, more realistic colour reproduction and an increase in image brightness".

The projector will go on sale in February 2011 with a recommend retail price of $59,999.
