Western Digital ships 750GB Scorpio Black notebook drive

The 2.5in Scorpio Black has a spin speed of 7200rpm

Western Digital has begun shipping its new 750GB Scorpio Black hard drives for notebooks. The 2.5in Scorpio Black drives target "creative professionals, gamers and PC enthusiasts", according to WD.

"Our most demanding customers have come to expect 'no compromises' from all of our Black series products", said Matt Rutledge, Western Digital's vice-president of product.

WD's new Scorpio Black drive has a spin speed of 7200rpm and includes 16MB of cache. The drive has a recommended retail price of $129 and come with a five-year warranty. It is distributed by Achieva and Synnex.
