Fark.com notches up six millionth user submission

Not long now till it reaches a brazillion!

Online news aggregation and all-round awesomely funny site, Fark.com, has reportedly notched up its sixth millionth submission — we're not really sure though, as we haven't read the farking article.

Fark.com was one of the first user-generated news sites to appear on the Web back around 1999, and it has been a hit, especially with office workers, ever since. Users submit news stories with their own (usually witty, mostly offensive) headline, and if the modmins approve it, it appears on the site's main pages. A subscription model is available, too, called TotalFark, in which sucke…. users pay $5 per month (around $4.60 Australian). TotalFark allows users to look at potentially thousands of other threads that don't make the front page.

The selection of stories to hit the main pages is always a source of contention, as users claim the modmins often select headlines with mis-spellings and tired old cliches, purely because they will attract the most responses from users. Staple topics on Fark.com include the weekly Caturday thread, anything written by (or channelling) Ric Romero and paint huffer extraordinaire, Patrick Tribett.

Well done, Farkers. We salute you!

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
