LG today announced that its Optimus Me Android smartphone will hit Australian stores in April for $229.

The Android-powered Optimus Me is targeted at consumers looking to buy their first smartphone, and will be sold through mass retailers including Woolworths Supermarkets and Dick Smith Electronics, as well as mobile phone dealers Allphones and Telechoice.

The LG Optimus Me has a 2.8-inch capacitive touch screen and runs the 2.2 'Froyo' version of Google's Android operating system. The Optimus Me also has 2GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot, and comes with a 3-megapixel camera.

"By making everything simple and easy to use, the Optimus Me is the perfect entry level device for these consumers, while also offering the latest Google Mobile Service features to keep the more tech-inclined users happy," said Nathan Dunn, general manager of LG mobile Australia.

The LG Optimus Me is the latest in a range of Android smartphones targeting the budget segment of the Australian market. Earlier this month, Telstra unveiled the first Android smartphone that allegedly breaks the $100 price barrier in Australia, the Telstra Smart-Touch, while Chinese manufacturer Huawei currently sells the Huawei IDEOS U8150 Android phone for $99 — but only to customers who purchase the phone online.

The LG Optimus Me will be available outright and unlocked from the beginning of April.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.

The Huddle Board’s built in program; Sharp Touch Viewing software allows us to easily manipulate and edit our documents (jpegs and PDFs) all at the same time on the dashboard.

The biggest perks for me would be that it comes with easy to use and comprehensive programs that make the collaboration process a whole lot more intuitive and organic
