Telstra now offering BYO 'Freedom Connect' plans

Freedom Connect BYO cap plans include unlimited SMS messages to any Australian mobile

Telstra has made its latest 'Freedom Connect' mobile phone plans available for consumers who want to use their existing mobile, but customers will still have to sign a 12 month contract.

Available online, in-store or by calling Telstra from tomorrow onwards, the Freedom Connect BYO cap plans include unlimited SMS messages to any Australian mobile. The BYO plans also include extra monthly call and data allowances than the equivalent, regular Freedom Connect plans.

"The new Freedom Connect BYO Plans acknowledge not everyone wants a new mobile phone. In fact, many Aussies would prefer to hold onto their old phone, rather than upgrade and learn the ins and outs of a completely new device," said Telstra consumer executive director, Rebekah O'Flaherty.

"We're rewarding these customers with more value for less monthly spend. Customers simply bring their existing compatible mobile to Telstra, and can now enjoy one plan better value than the equivalent Freedom Connect Plan."

A total of four Freedom Connect BYO plans are offered by Australia's largest telco and are as follows:

— $49 for $550 worth of calls, unlimited text and MessageBank and 1.5GB data
— $59 for $800 worth of calls, unlimited text and MessageBank and 2GB data
— $79 for $1200 worth of calls, unlimited MessageBank and 2.5GB data
— $99 for unlimited calls and text, unlimited MessageBank and 3GB data

"Customers wanted more certainty and that's what these mobile plans offer with generous calling value, unlimited standard national text on the $49+ plans, a great 2.5GB data inclusion on the $79 plan and unlimited MessageBank use on the $59+ plans."

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
