iPhone 5 pre-order date set for 14 September

Pre-order the iPhone 5 on Friday a week before release

Apple is due to reveal its iPhone 5 later today and customers will be able to pre-order the smartphone on 14 September.

That pre-order date is this Friday and a couple of days after Apple's launch event for the next generation iPhone. According to MacRumours, the iPhone 5 will be available to pre-order from Apple early on Friday morning, possibly 6am. See: iPhone 5 release date, specs and rumour round-up.

"We're hearing that certain portions of Apple's online sales support team are significantly increasing their staffing levels beginning at 6:00 AM Eastern on Friday, with a major surge for the initial shift beginning at that time and a sustained level of high staffing for at least the remainder of the day." said MacRumours.

Apple's pre-order tactics, and indeed launches, have varied over the years with the iPhone 4S going up for pre-order soon after the media event finished. This appears not to be the case with this year's iPhone 5. See also: iPhone 5 launch: everything you need to know.

It is believed that pre-orders will be shipped and the iPhone 5 will hit Apple stores on 21 September, nine days after today's launch event. Check out the iPhone 5 price in UK too.

Earlier we reported the first iPhone 5 case by Sculpteo which shows the iPhone 5 will be larger than the iPhone 4/4S. At EE's 4G mobile broadband launch the firm hinted that the iPhone 5 will be 4G capable.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
