A Beginner's Guide to Windows 8

Windows 8 is Microsoft's successor to the popular Windows 7 operating system. It's a brand new operating system that has been designed not only with desktops and notebooks in mind, but also for tablet devices and other computers that implement touchscreens, such as all-in-one PCs and hybrid-style Ultrabooks.

There has been a radical change in the design of the operating system and how it works compared to Windows 7. This book will guide you through some of the new features that you can expect to find in Windows 8, including the all-important Start screen (formerly called the Metro interface), which is the first thing you'll see when you boot up a Windows 8-based computer. We'll also talk a little about some of the new types of computers that are available for Windows 8, and whether you should upgrade your hardware or stick with what you've got.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
