"If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work."

HP launches industry’s first affordable dual-processor server for the growing small to medium enterprise

The HP ProLiant ML150 server delivers scalability for business growth

SYDNEY, Australia, 29 October 2003 Hewlett Packard (HP) has introduced an ideal server for value conscious growing businesses seeking maximum productivity and efficiency at minimum cost and effort. The HP ProLiant ML150 is targeted at small to medium enterprises, ideal for companies with up to 250 employees.

The HP ProLiant ML150 server combines superb reliability, performance and easy installation, while maximising expandability with extra memory and storage capacity. This allows it to not only provide customers with peace of mind but also to scale with their growing business.

"HP has listened to the Australian marketplace and is introducing a truly integrated solution developed specifically to provide the right performance, features and price point for growing small to medium enterprises," said Angus Jones, Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise Systems Group, Hewlett Packard.

"The HP ProLiant ML150 server is designed for value conscious businesses, where price is the deal breaker. It gives our customers the ability to ring around and purchase third party options at the best possible price, and still ship a server with a reputable brand name to the market," he said.

The HP ProLiant ML150 can scale up to two processors, up to 12 GB of memory and 730 GB of storage capacity. It also allows for tool free replacement of major components to minimise downtime and maintenance costs. The new server also provides an optimal platform for resellers. It allows them to extend the service offerings desired by their customers, with world class support from HP.

The ML150 is the first industry standard product in HP's new 100 series to be available in the Australian market.

The server is powered by the Intel Xeon processor, which is two way SMP capable, in configurations with 2.4 or 2.8 GHz processors, dual channel Ultra 320 SCSI controller, four PCI X slots for improved performance and hot swap models for better single system high availability.
The ML150 server provides customers with the choice of all leading operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Linux.

"Our customers will receive a standard warranty of three years parts, one year labour and on site support. They will also have the option to upgrade to better care packs," said Komadina.
Available from January 2004, the pricing for the HP ProLiant ML150 server starts from AUD$2,245 (ex. GST).
