The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct coming March 27

Pre-ordering the survival horror game at EB nets Herd Mode DLC

Just as the latest season of AMC’s The Walking Dead has begun broadcast, Activision is gearing up for the release of its tie-in game, Survival Instinct.

With local release scheduled for March 27, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is different from The Walking Dead game by Telltale Games that came out last year, which was based on the original comic book series.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a first-person shooter set in the AMC version of The Walking Dead universe, which means the same locations and characters from the TV show will make an appearance in it.

Eschewing the main cast of characters, the game’s protagonist is the crossbow-wielding survivor Daryl Dixon, a new character developer for the TV series.

He is joined by his gruff brother Merle on a journey across the Georgia countryside that tests their survival skills against enemies both living and undead.

The likeness of actors Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker are in the game to add to AMC The Walking Dead experience.

Gamers that pre-order The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct from EB Games will receive an exclusive DLC pack, titled GameStop Herd Mode Challenge.

The all-new Herd Mode consists of taking on an endless waves of zombies, each more dangerous than the last, and in turn opportunities to rack up an even higher score.

Herd Mode is unlockable on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and is exclusive to EB Games.
