Snapshot: Samsung S9 Ultra HD TV

The world’s best, biggest Ultra HD TV is a Samsung

At CES 2013, Samsung blew away attendees with a whole suite of new TVs. Its 2013 TV line-up includes LED, LCD, plasma, and OLED variants, and we’re sure that just like in previous years Samsung will cover a wide gamut of prices.

Up at the higher end of the price range, you’re able to buy extremely high quality TVs. You’re also able to buy extremely large TVs, too. Combine the two and the price goes through the roof.

This is the reason we’re simultaneously looking forward to and wincing at the price tag of the Samsung S9, an Ultra HD LED TV that’s going to be available in 85-inch and 110-inch sizes.

The S9’s massive LED-backlit LCD panel is going to have a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, far in excess of the current 1920 x 1080 pixel standard of Full HD that’s currently top dog. We’ve seen two Ultra HD TVs so far — the Sony ‘4K’ Ultra HD BRAVIA, and the LG 84LM9600 — but they’re still rare and pricy.

The design of the S9 is just as impressive as its Ultra HD credentials. It’s mounted on a two-legged easel, with a rakish tilt — you’re going to have to have a lot of space to put it in your living room, although we presume it will also be wall-mountable.

Samsung isn’t going to be the one that brings Ultra HD price tags down to affordable levels. The 85-inch S9 will be out soon, and we fully expect it to carry the same price as Sony’s $25K BRAVIA. The 110-inch S9, booked in for some time in the future, will be far, far more expensive.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

Wireless printing from my iPhone was also a handy feature, the whole experience was quick and seamless with no setup requirements - accessed through the default iOS printing menu options.

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
