HTC details various One manufacturing techniques in new video

HTC has generally always built excellent quality hardware and its latest flagship Android phone — the HTC One — seems to be no exception. The company has just released a short video which details some of the One's manufacturing processes and they look pretty impressive.

We go hands-on with the HTC One

The video, published on HTC's global YouTube account over the weekend, features the company's creative director, Daniel Hundt, and the senior director of manufacturing and design, Jethro Liou, describing certain aspects of the manufacturing process. It's naturally a little over the top and includes way too much use of the word "seamless", but the manufacturing processes shown off actually look pretty interesting.

Among the techniques include an "electrochemical etching process" directly on the One's surface that creates a "nanomatrix structure". There's also a custom bolt cutter used to provide natural curve to the casing.

The "no gap" construction means there's no visible gaps or slits in the case design. A diamond cutter tops things off, used to create the bevelled edges around the One.
