Does Apple's WWDC 2013 app give us our first look at iOS 7's new design?

Apple's WWDC 2013 app sports a flatter, more minimalist design than previous years

Apple's new WWDC app could be our first glimpse at the future of iOS, ahead of the expected unveiling of iOS 7 at the conference's opening keynote on 10 June.

Apple on Monday released its WWDC 2013 companion app, providing attendees with maps and schedules for the conference, developers unable to attend the event with daily videos from the event, and everyone else with the latest news. The app sports a flatter, more minimalist design than previous years - a style expected to be on its way for the entire iOS user interface with iOS 7.

With the WWDC 2013 app, Apple has scrapped gradients, shines and textures completely, opting instead for a simple black and white design with colour-coded sessions.

In addition, the app's icon is also flat. Most of Apple's previous App icons feature a gradient or shine, or another skeuomorphic element like a wood effect (in the Newsstand app, for example) or stitching (Find My Friends).

Earlier today, we shared an allegedly leaked iOS 7 screenshot, which also appears to show new app icon designs.

It is widely believed that iOS 7 will bring a complete redesign to the user interface found on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, under the leadership of Apple design guru Jony Ive.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
