Leaked 'iPhone 5S' components flood the web

Several parts allegedly belonging to Apple's new iPhone have emerged online

This week has been a busy one for the Apple rumour mill, with several leaked components allegedly belonging to Apple's next iPhone, dubbed iPhone 5S or iPhone 6, making their way onto the web.

On Monday, photos of a logic board that is rumoured to be from the next iPhone appeared, showing a component that is largely the same as the iPhone 5's.

The logic board, which was photographed by Moumantai and first spotted by Japanese Apple blog Macotakara, has a space for a processor that appears to be similar in size to the space for the A6 chip on the iPhone 5's logic board, but there is no actual chip shown in the images. The only visible difference is the screw placement at the top of the board, and a slight difference to the bottom where the board would meet the speaker enclosure.

Following the logic board leak, photos of what is claimed to be the next-generation iPhone's display also emerged this week.

MacRumors shared the photographs of the display, which were obtained from iHeart Repair and Fanatic Fone, and noted that the photos don't reveal any significant changes to the technology behind the next iPhone's display. It also appears to be the same size as the iPhone 5's display. The photos do, however, seem to match with the leaked logic board, which suggests that the leaks could be genuine.

On Thursday, further photos were leaked, this time showing what is supposedly an assembled 'iPhone 5S'.

MacRumors reports that it received several images that appear to show the interior and the rear shell of Apple's next-generation iPhone, with the same logic board as the one leaked earlier in the week.

Despite a chip being present in the photographs, it has no A-series name label, so it's unclear whether it is an A6 chip or perhaps the rumoured A7 chip that could be introduced with the next iPhone.

A prototype battery and other internal components are also shown in the photo.

As for the rear casing, the new images show a bigger LED flash window, suggesting that the next iPhone could have a dual flash. This also supports the speculation that the next iPhone will have a significantly improved camera.

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone in autumn, which is when Apple has promised the public roll out of its redesigned iOS 7.
