NETGEAR Leads in Worldwide Unit Market Share for Software Secure Routers and Wired Broadband Gateways

<p>SANTA CLARA, Calif. (December 20, 2004) – NETGEAR, Inc., (Nasdaq: NTGR) a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking products, today announced the release of industry analyst reports that demonstrate the company’s worldwide unit market share leadership in the categories of software secure enterprise routers and software secure wired broadband gateways.</p>
<p>According to a market analysis report published in November 2004 by Infonetics Research, Inc., NETGEAR has continued its market share dominance over the past year with 45 percent of the worldwide unit market share in Q3 2004 for software secure enterprise routers and 52 percent of the worldwide unit market share in Q3 2004 for software secure wired broadband gateways.</p>
