Sega to make Football Manager 2014 available for Linux, also adds cloud saves feature

Management sim returns with cloud saves and Linux version

Sega has announced the upcoming release of its soccer management sim, known internationally as Football Manager 2014, for PC, Linux, and Mac. The game is currently scheduled for release “before Xmas 2013,” and it marks the first time that the game will be available on Linux in addition to the Windows platform.

A key addition to this year’s title is cloud-based saves, which Sports Interactive studio director, Miles Jacobson, said enables players to continue a single career from any computer regardless of location.

“Players can now take charge of their team anywhere they can access a home computer, and with huge improvements to existing features plus the addition of loads of new stuff, can have the best Football Manager experience to date while doing so,” he said.

Jacobson adds that Football Manager 2014 comes with “1,000 improvements and enhancements” over last year’s Football Manager 2013.

“Our unchanging goal in the development of the Football Manager series is to deliver the most authentic and immersive simulation of real-world football management wherever you may be in the world,” he said.

Further customisation

Football Manager 2014 has been designed to be more customisable than past instalments with the integration of Steam Workshop tools, which make it easy for players to create and share custom content such as photo/logo packs.

A new Challenge Editor, which has been incorporated into the free-to-download Pre-game Editor, will allow players to create tailor-made in-game challenges and custom competitions.

Other improvements to the game include a revamped 3D match engine, more realistic transfers and contracts, sophisticated board interaction, and complex interaction between staff, players and rival managers.

Pre-ordering a copy of Football Manager 2014 will give players access to a playable beta version of the game approximately two weeks ahead of the official release date.

I need power and lots of it. As a Front End Web developer anything less just won’t cut it which is why the MSI GT75 is an outstanding laptop for me. It’s a sleek and futuristic looking, high quality, beast that has a touch of sci-fi flare about it.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
