Casetagram lets you create custom smartphone cases

Casetagram's customisable cases are a nice option, but the case itself could use some improvement

These days, there's certainly no shortage of available cases for your smartphone. A relatively unique option is Casetagram, which claims to be the first and only company with an app that allows users to produce fully customisable cases.

Casetagram lets users customise a smartphone case by uploading their own Instagram and Facebook photos, or using their own personal photos. The made-to-order cases can be customised with up to 18 layouts, and up to 24 photos can be used on a single case, depending on the layout selected.

We ordered a Casetagram case in order to evaluate the service. The online interface is very easy to use and allows photos to be dragged and dropped onto a virtual template. Users can link their Instagram or Facebook accounts for direct access to images, while personal photos can also be uploaded to the site for use on a case.

Available templates range from a single photo, to the "golden grid" option which lets you use 24 photos on a single case. The options are impressive, but not overwhelming thanks to a straightforward UI. For those who don't want to create a custom case, the site also offers a large range of existing designs.

In addition to creating a custom case online, Castagram also has a free app for iOS and Android devices, that allows users to create and order any case from their smartphone or tablet.

Casetagram claims each case is hand checked before it gets sent out, and users can choose from "frosty white" or "frost charcoal" colours. Custom images are screen printed onto the back of the case, which is manufactured from hard plastic. The print on the case is a cross between matte and gloss and appears to be of good quality.

Cases start from US$34.95 and include free standard shipping to over 80 countries. We ordered an iPhone 5s case, priced at US$39.95 and delivery time was seriously impressive, taking just two days to reach Australia after the order was placed. Casetagram says most users should receive their case within 2-4 working days.

While the the quality of the printed photos is impressive, the Casetagram case itself is of questionable quality. Our iPhone 5s case doesn't sit firmly on the device, shifting up and down and therefore rattling when moved. The case also provides minimal protection for the iPhone: the bottom and top of the phone are left almost completely unexposed, while the cutout around the camera lens on the back isn't smooth or clean.

Casetagram has cases available for the Apple iPhone 5s, 5c, 5, 4S and 4, the 5th Generation and 4th Generation iPod touch, the iPad Mini, the 4th Generation and 3rd Generation iPad, the iPad 2, the Google Nexus 4, the Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, and S2, the Samsung Galaxy Note II and original Galaxy Note, and the Blackberry Z10.

MSI GS65 Stealth Thin

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.

Brother QL-820NWB Professional Label Printer

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
