Pentium III-M, Firewire in tiny package</p>
<p>Amtex Electronics today announced the availability of the ECM-5616, a single-board industrial computer that offers the power of an 800MHz Pentium III-Mobile processor or an optional Celeron processor, plus the speed of Fast Ethernet and twin IEE1394 Firewire interfaces.
The new computer is just 203mmx146mm yet also offers a CardBus slot, six RS232 ports, a single PCI slot, a parallel interface and an EIDE controller with support for up to four hard drives, and up to four USB ports and an IrDA interface also come standard.</p>
<p>Memory of up to 512MB can be installed, courtesy of two 168-pin DIMM sockets. Keyboard and mouse support are built in and CRT or 48-bit TFT panels can be connected. Comprehensive audio features based on an Intel chipset make the device ideal for multimedia applications while an upgrade to Gigabit Ethernet is also offered.</p>
