Samsung reveals local prices for upgraded Galaxy Note 10.1

Only the 16GB model sold in Australia

Samsung first unveiled the 2014 Edition of its Android-based Galaxy Note 10.1 in September, presenting a range of hardware and software upgrades, the highlight of which is a new LCD with a resolution of 2560x1600, a significant jump from its predecessor’s 1280x800.

Note: a preview of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) can be found here, and a review of its predecessor, here.

Although local availability and pricing details were not listed at the time, Samsung has announced the device will be sold in both its Sydney and Melbourne Samsung Experience Stores, alongside the vendor’s authorised Australian retailers. Product shipments commenced on Monday, 25 November.

Australians often draw the short straw when it comes to internal storage, and this is yet another example. While Samsung manufactures the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants, only the 16GB option will be sold down under. Fortunately, the tablet does contain a microSD card slot so storage can be increased.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) is available with two connectivity options: Wi-Fi only for $649, and Wi-Fi plus 4G for $799. Consumers can also choose between the Jet Black and Classic White colour themes.

If you can afford the price tag, it is well worth the money. It out performs any other laptop I have tried for gaming, and the transportable design and incredible display also make it ideal for work.
