Dick Smith awards SIM-enabled tablet purchases with $30 Globalgig credit

Marketing campaign intended to increase brand awareness

Electronics retailer, Dick Smith, will be giving away $30 of Globalgig credit with any SIM-enabled tablet purchased between December 5, 2013, and January 31, 2014.

The Globalgig SIM start pack, which includes a free SIM card, can be used with any of the telecommunication provider’s domestic and international mobile broadband plans.

“This promotion will allow all new SIM-enabled tablet buyers to try Globalgig and realise how cheap and convenient our mobile broadband really is,” Globalgig channel sales and marketing manager, Matt Farmer, said in a statement.

The $30 credit and SIM card come with no lock-in contracts as the Globalgig service is prepaid, allowing customers to change plans each month or cancel their subscription with no penalty.

Globalgig offers 3G mobile broadband in Australia from $9 for 1GB per month, and from $19 per 1GB per month in selected countries internationally. This includes the US, UK, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Italy, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, and Spain.

Any unused data allowance expires at the end of each month. As required by the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Globalgig will send SMS or email alerts to users once they reach the 50 per cent, 85 per cent, and 100 per cent mark of their data limit.

The promotion is available at all Dick Smith retail stores and through its web site. The MVNO operates on the Optus 3G network in Australia.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.

The print quality also does not disappoint, it’s clear, bold, doesn’t smudge and the text is perfectly sized.
