Samsung Australia launches 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePro for $1250

Australians will be able to buy Samsung’s 12.2in Galaxy NotePro tablet from retailers this week.

Samsung originally unveiled its NotePro range of tablets at the 2014 CES show in Las Vegas. The larger 12.2in NotePro stood out for its A4-sized form factor. Now the 32GB Wi-Fi and 4G variants of the device will go on sale priced at $1099 and $1249 respectively.

Samsung is also releasing the 10.1in variant of its introductory TabPro tablet. The TabPro will come with 16GB of internal storage and will be released in Wi-Fi and 4G variants for $599 and $749 respectively.

Both the NotePro and the TabPro operate on Android 4.4 KitKat, have 2560x1600 resolution screens, expandable microSD storage, 2MP front cameras and 8MP rear cameras capable of recording Full HD (1080p) videos at 60 frames per second.

The 12.2in NotePro has 3GB of RAM, while the cheaper TabPro comes with a lesser 2GB. The NotePro also proves superior by featuring a larger 9500 milliamp-hour battery compared to the 8220 milliamp-hour battery found in the TabPro. However, the main distinction between is that the NotePro benefit from additional functionality by supporting Samsung’s S-Pen stylus.

Good Gear Guide has asked Samsung Australia to confirm whether the tablets will come with a quad-core or an Exynos 5 Octa CPU. We will update this article with Samsung Australia’s response.
