BlackBerry offers BES10 as a hosted service through partners

Businesses wanting the security of BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 without the complexity of managing it onsite can now buy it as a hosted service from six BlackBerry partners.

The BES10 service can manage and secure iOS and Android devices, as well as those running BlackBerry OS.

Isec7, a German mobility management company, will host BES10 for customers worldwide, alongside its existing offering of managed mobile Exchange, SAP and Lotus services.

Three other companies in Germany, BFI, Solvito and Systag Systemhaus, will host the service for companies there, while IBM's German subsidiary will serve customers across Europe, according to the BlackBerry website.

The sixth partner, Exchange My Mail, will host the service for clients in North America.

The hosted version of BES10 will provide enterprise customers with more flexibility, scaling from one user to thousands, BlackBerry said. It will offer the same security and reliability as the on-premise version, with additional support from the hosting partner, it said.

Neither BlackBerry nor the partners were immediately able to respond to questions about pricing for the hosted service. Licenses for the on-premise service start at US$19 per device per year, with an additional $4 per device per year for support. To access security features on non-BlackBerry devices, and to access enhanced management tools on BlackBerry devices, customers must purchase a "Gold" license, costing $60 per device per year plus $12 for support.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
