Vodafone selling Samsung's 4G Galaxy Tab S from $47 a month

Vodafone is selling the 16GB version of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S from today on select mobile broadband plans

The 10.5in Tab S will be available from $47 for 2.5GB of data per month over a two year contract. However, contracting the tablet on a $52 per month plan results in a monthly data allowance of 4GB — that’s almost double for just $5 more.

Samsung’s tablet is also available on one year contracts starting from $79 per month.

Alternatively, the Tab S can be purchased from Vodafone for $768 outright

Good Gear Guide praised the Tab S for its 2560x1600 resolution screen, 7mm thick body and solid build in its review. The Tab S is also the first tablet to feature a finger scanner, which can be linked to up to eight user profiles.

The Android 4.4 tablet has an 8-core processor based on ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture, alternating between an efficient 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and a powerful 1.9GHz quad-core CPU.

Also on board is 3GB of RAM and, for the model offered by Vodafone, a 4G modem and 16GB of internal storage. Adding more storage is possible as the Tab S can take microSD cards up to 128GB in memory.

The Tab S supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Wi-Fi direct, Mobile High-definition Link and Bluetooth 4.0.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.

I’d recommend a Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 and the new Windows 10 to anyone who needs to get serious work done (before you kick back on your couch with your favourite Netflix show.)
