Sydney Airport lost property auction: you'll be amazed at what some people left behind

From tech gear to liquor, and even a bike, Sydney Airport auctions off stuff passengers have left behind

Sydney Airport will be hosting an online auction for charity that will feature items of lost property. The airport claims that it has thousands of items to go under the hammer, with the auction period starting tomorrow (Tuesday 4 November) and running until 14 November.

The auction will be held in stages, with the first auction starting off tomorrow and offering cameras, iPods, gaming consoles, and various other electronics. Meanwhile the second auction on 5 November will have smartphones, laptops, and other tech gear. Those of you after some lippy or a handbag will want to tune in from 6 November, while bargain booze will be auctioned off starting 7 November.

Miscelleneous items will go under the hammer from 8 November, and believe it or not, this auction will feature items as large as surf boards and foldable bicycles. It's unclear how one loses such items and then forgets to ask the airport if per chance they may have seen such an item floating around in the lost and found, but their loss could be your gain.

Last year, Sydney Airport claims that it raised over $130,000 for charity, and it's hoping for similar success this year, with the help of the thousands of items that have gone unclaimed.

If you're interested in the auction, you can view more information on the Pickles Auctions Web site.
