Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Released to Manufacturing

<p>We wanted to bring to your attention to an announcement made in the US today (media release below) on the release to manufacture of Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003.</p>
<p>Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 is an integrated suite of Microsoft products designed specifically for the small business, which includes Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server.</p>
<p>With a choice of Standard and Premium editions, Windows Small Business Server 2003 integrates e-mail, fax, database, and shared Internet into one powerful platform that's easy to deploy to meet the needs of businesses with less than 50 computers.</p>
<p>- Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition is a new version of Windows Small Business Server consisting of Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 technology. Standard Edition is ideal for those customers who do not require the higher-level functionality provided by the Premium Edition.</p>
<p>The recommended retail price for the standard version with 5 CALS included is $1,108 AUD (inclusive of GST).</p>
<p>- Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition also includes Windows Server 2003 and Exchange Server 2003 technology, but adds SQL Server 2000 and Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2004. Premium Edition is ideal for those small businesses with more demanding IT needs, such as data-intensive line-of-business applications, or firewall and Web-caching capabilities.</p>
<p>The premium edition pricing will be set at the end of September 2003.</p>
<p>Microsoft Australia has also announced its new small and medium business server product manager, David Allinson. Prior to joining Microsoft, David spent 10 years working closely with small and medium customers in roles with Dell Computers in Singapore and Sun Microsystems in the UK.</p>
