Sony is moving its PlayStation base to California

The move will also unify the PlayStation and PlayStation Network companies

Sony plans to shift its global headquarters for PlayStation from Tokyo to California this year, it said Tuesday.

Consumers outside Japan are becoming more important for Sony's PlayStation, network-based gaming and general entertainment businesses.

The new company, called Sony Interactive Entertainment, will be made up of Sony Computer Entertainment, the company that sells and develops PlayStation hardware, and Sony Network Entertainment International, the company that operates the PlayStation Network.

It will be based in San Mateo and will open for business on April 1, the first day of the Japanese financial year. The PlayStation division will keep its current CEO, Andrew House, and retain key business operations in London and Tokyo.

Japan was the first country where Sony put the PlayStation console on sale after its debut in December 1994. The console was a hit both at home and in overseas markets.

Its popularity overseas has grown substantially in recent years, and when the PlayStation 4 went on sale in late 2013, it became the first PlayStation console to debut in the U.S. and Europe before Japan. Total sales of the console reached 36 million units earlier this year.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

Wireless printing from my iPhone was also a handy feature, the whole experience was quick and seamless with no setup requirements - accessed through the default iOS printing menu options.

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
