Home decoration goes 3D with new app

Australian-first commerce platform shows potential purchases in situ

Consumers looking to decorate their homes can now visualise new furniture and décor products in life-like 3D in their own rooms, thanks to a new augmented reality platform, from Cimagine.

The app lets consumers use their iPhone, iPad and mobile to view furniture and other products while re-creating rooms in their home or at the store.

Currently used by brands and retailers like Coca-Cola, Shop Direct and John Lewis, the local arm of the company has signed up its first customer April & Oak, which has implemented the technology on 100 products in their latest catalogue. The company said it is in negotiations with several other Australian retailers.

Cimagine claimed retailers also benefit from the technology as it offers enhanced customer experience and provides a point of difference from competitors. Stores will also be able to display a larger range of products within a small confined space by using the technology.

The team behind the app is also currently working on developing the platform to allow visualization of different product categories, such as appliances, electronics and flooring.

The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is a great device that fits perfectly into my fast paced and mobile lifestyle. My first impression of the printer itself was how incredibly compact and sleek the device was.

Wireless printing from my iPhone was also a handy feature, the whole experience was quick and seamless with no setup requirements - accessed through the default iOS printing menu options.

A smarter way to print for busy small business owners, combining speedy printing with scanning and copying, making it easier to produce high quality documents and images at a touch of a button.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8730

I've had a multifunction printer in the office going on 10 years now. It was a neat bit of kit back in the day -- print, copy, scan, fax -- when printing over WiFi felt a bit like magic. It’s seen better days though and an upgrade’s well overdue. This HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 looks like it ticks all the same boxes: print, copy, scan, and fax. (Really? Does anyone fax anything any more? I guess it's good to know the facility’s there, just in case.) Printing over WiFi is more-or- less standard these days.
