Professional projector PB8220

Targeted at the business and educational markets, this projector is well specified with 2200 ANSI lumens brightness, 16.7 million available colours and a 200:1 contrast ratio. The PB8220 supports aspect ratios of 4:3 and 16:9 (wide screen), plus a maximum resolution of 1024x768. It has a stated minimum projection distance of 80cm and can throw a diagonal image from 62cm to approximately 6.1m.

The footprint of the PB8220 is a little smaller than average, with its dimensions of 308x95x238mm (WxHxD), and it weighs 3.1kg. A bundled soft carry case with dual pockets is included as standard; the light weight of the projector, and the case, increase portability. Connectivity for this unit includes inputs for component RCA for high-definition TV, composite video, S-Video, VGA, Serial, USB 1.1 and stereo audio. A small 2W speaker is located in the top of the unit, for those business presentations that require audio.

The lens itself uses DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology, the successor to LCD lenses, and produces a sharp, quality image for viewing even in well-lit rooms. The included lamp has a stated life of 2000 hours and costs approximately $790 to replace.

The supplied remote is very easy to use and supports features such as Picture In Picture mode, a laser pointer, volume control, digital keystone correction (+/-15°) and the ability to use the remote as a mouse.

During testing, the PB8220 was reasonably quiet with a touted noise level of 34dB. During setup, the PB8220 easily connected to multiple devices and presented no problems accepting the different input signals.
