Star Wars: Trials on Tatooine brings free VR lightsaber battles to Steam today

July the eighteenth be with you

This weekend was host to all things Star Wars thanks to Star Wars Celebration Europe. Movies? Sure, they’re coming—but that’s not really our focus here. We’re here to talk about video games. Specifically, Trials on Tatooine.

First debuted at GDC back in March, Trials on Tatooine is a brief Star Wars experience that pretty much does exactly what you’d expect, giving you a lightsaber to swing around. Then a few Stormtroopers show up, all hell (or some hell) breaks loose, and you spend a while trying to deflect lasers back at the baddies.

I didn’t know what would come of it—it’s more an ultra-slick demo than a full-fledged game. But Lucasfilm apparently has decided it’s polished enough to play in the comfort of your own home, which is great news. You can find it on Steam today, and it’s free (as long as you have a Vive, of course).

There’s more out of Star Wars Celebration Europe. The Old Republic is getting yet another expansion, Visceral’s game still exists, and Battlefront’s getting a Death Star expansion with honest-to-god space battles. Check out the teaser below:

MSI GS75

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.

The MSI PS63 is an amazing laptop and I would definitely consider buying one in the future.

This small mobile printer is exactly what I need for invoicing and other jobs such as sending fellow tradesman details or step-by-step instructions that I can easily print off from my phone or the Web.
