Fullbright Founders To Headline Melbourne International Games Week 2017

Victoria’s annual week-long festival celebrating Australia’s local games development is set to take place from the 22nd to 29th of October, with Fullbright cofounders Karla Zimonja and Steve Gaynor set to headline the week’s Game Connect Asia Pacific (GCAP) developer conference.

Martin Foley, Victorian Minister for Creative Industries said, “Melbourne International Games Week is a chance to immerse yourself in the world of games, learn about how games are changing the world and see how Victoria – the creative state – is leading the way.”

Victoria is home to half of Australia’s games industry with over 130 game development studios and Melbourne International Games Week is the largest games event in Asia Pacific, featuring 14 diverse events for curious consumers, families, educators, game enthusiasts, novices and industry professionals.

MIGW kicks off with a day of free family activities at ACMI’s MIGW Family Sunday: Mario and his Friends event. Consumers can also get their game on playing Wayfinder Live – a mobile scavenger hunt through laneways and restaurants of Melbourne - or explore new releases at the nearby PAX AUS convention.

One of this year’s new initiatives are the Parallels: The Freeplay Showcase, a public event where local designers and artists can demonstrate their games live on stage and discuss their work.

Melbourne International Games Week takes place from the 22nd to 29th of October.
