CES 2018: Ring Bolster Security Offering With Cameras, Lights, Alarms and Subscription Service

Networked security vendor Ring has announced a pair of new indoor and outdoor security cameras, a line of connected outdoor lights and further bolstered its appeal to home-owners by announcing that their new professionally monitored home security system will begin shipping to customers in late 2018.

Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said: “In order to execute on our mission of reducing
crime in neighbourhoods, homeowners need security that is affordable, proactive, easy to install, and
comprehensive. All Ring products are integrated so homeowners can create a complete security system
with custom zones, commands and settings to best deter thieves."

To that end, Ring's new Stick Up Cam offers up a weatherproof, battery-powered design with two-way audio and passive infared motions sensors that have been integrated. Able to be used indoors and outdoors, the Stick Up Cam comes ready to integrate with Ring's Solar Panel Charger and capable of capturing 1080p HD video. Meanwhile, the Stick Up Cam Elite sweetens the deal with more advanced motion sensors and PoE (power over Ethernet) support.

These cameras will debut alongside Ring's new Beams range. These new outdoor-friendly smart lights have been designed to integrate with both the Ring app and the company's range of camera and doorbell products.

No Australian pricing is available for the new products as of yet. However, the company's new Ring Alarm has gotten a price. Ring say they'll begin shipping the product in late 2018, debuting at an RRP of $289.

"As we begin shipping our security system, which offers professional monitoring and unlimited cameras, and continue to innovate and layer new products and features into the Ring of Security and Ring Neighborhoods network, we’re going to make being a burglar in 2018 a very tough job,” Siminoff said.

Ring have also used CES to talk up their new professional monitoring plans. These were announced back in August and offer customers 24/7 professional monitoring, unlimited cloud storage for their Ring products, free access to the Mobile app and 10% off future device purchases.
