Five 2017 flagship smartphones that are now less than $900

Tech is all about exciting new products - especially in the smartphone space. However, when it comes down to it, not everyone necessarily needs this year’s flagship device. For plenty, last year’s best will do the job just as well - and there’s never been a better time to scoop up devices like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and HTC U11.

Here are five solid smartphones released in 2017 that have already seen their price-tags slashed.

Nokia 8

What is it?

HMD’s flagship Nokia handset for 2017. In our review, we said that “There’s so much more to like about the Nokia 8 than just the nostalgia factor. Solid specs, crisp cameras and fantastic form factor make it a comeback for the brand.”

At launch, the Nokia 8 was $899.

Samsung Galaxy S8

Samsung’s 2017 flagship. In our review, we said that“The phone’s failings are negligible at the end of the day. The screen and handling are generally excellent. Battery life is adequate. It’s super-fast and its camera is one of the very best on show. In short, it’s got it where it counts and at $1199 it’s expensive but reasonable value in the current market.”
