CES 2019: Sony to add Amazon Alexa to their WH-1000X noise cancelling headphones

Although their 8K and OLED TVs took center stage, Sony's CES press conference also brought with it the news that the company's flagship range of noise cancelling wireless headphones will soon have Amazon Alexa.

Owners of Sony's WH-1000X, WH-1000X M2 and last year's WH-1000X M3 noise cancelling wireless headphones will soon be able to summon Alexa in the same way that they can the Google Assistant.

When it arrives, this update will make an already-great product even better. PC World Australia named the WH-1000X M2 our pick for the year's best headphones in 2017 and last year's WH-1000X M3s took home the same honor in our recent Editor's Choice Awards.

There's no exact timeline or date for when the software upgrade will arrive but seeing a company improve a product that's already in the market certainly makes for a nice contrast to the parade of new tech on display at this year's CES.

Disclosure - PC World Australia's coverage of this year's CES in Las Vegas was sponsored by Intel and MSI who covered the costs of our flights and accommodation.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.

The MSI PS63 is an amazing laptop and I would definitely consider buying one in the future.
