Samsung's first 8K finally has an Australian price-tag

Plus a nifty bonus

Samsung has finally unveiled local Australian pricing and availability for their first 8K TV.

Previously shown off at this year's CES and last year's IFA, Samsung's Q900 series will finally be coming to Australian consumers in April with prices starting at a hefty $9,999.

Jeremy Senior, Head of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Australia claims that “Samsung’s QLED 8K offering will set a new standard in what Australians will expect from our ultra-premium offering in home entertainment and is truly something you need to see to understand"

“Australians are buying bigger TVs each year and with a larger screen size comes the need for a clearer, more detailed picture. Samsung QLED 8K technology delivers our best possible viewing experience for the large screen format."

Samsung's Q900 series is broken out into three sizings: 82-inches ($17,499), 75-inches ($12,999) and 65-inches ($9999).

Each TV boasts AI-powered 8K upscaling, HDR and HDR10+ support, Samsung's One Clear Cable and One Remote, the Ambient Mode found in last year's QLED TVs and new Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa integration.

To sweeten the deal and take away some of the sting from the premium pricing, the company are also offering an incentive to preorder through their own online storefront. From March 14th onwards, those who pre-order any Samsung QLED 8K from Samsung’s online store will receive a bonus Samsung Galaxy S10+.

The Samsung Q900 8K QLED will be available for pre-order via Samsung's online store from the 14th of March and will arrive at Harvey Norman, JB-Hi-Fi and The Good Guys retail locations from April 1st.

In New Zealand, the Samsung Q900 8K QLED will be available through Harvey-Norman, with local pricing starting at NZ$10,999 for the 65-inch model.

As the Maserati or BMW of laptops, it would fit perfectly in the hands of a professional needing firepower under the hood, sophistication and class on the surface, and gaming prowess (sports mode if you will) in between.
