Fujitsu and Samsung SDI have settled a legal dispute in which each company sued the other over patents related to PDPs (plasma display panels), they said Monday.
Under the agreement, both companies will withdraw all claims made in the U.S. and Japan related to Fujitsu's PDP patents, and Fujitsu will withdraw a claim for injunctive relief under a Japanese customs and tariffs law, they said in a brief statement. Tokyo Customs has barred imports of Samsung SDI panels into Japan since April 21 as a result of the latter claim.
A Fujitsu spokesman declined to provide further details of the settlement. Samsung SDI could not immediately be reached for comment.
